Land Stewardship & Infrastructure Manager

Ty is our Land Stewardship and Infrastructure Manager. He grew up in East Texas but fell in love with South Texas while attending Texas A&M University-Kingsville earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Range and Wildlife Management. Ty has worked on various private ranches across South Texas before leaving the state to work with New Mexico NRCS as a Range and Soil Conservationist. He returned to Texas in 2018 with Quail Forever as a Range and Wildlife Conservationist covering the Permian basin before becoming a Coordinating Wildlife Biologist for Quail Forever and the Oaks and Prairies Joint Venture. This experience has given him extensive knowledge in native restoration and successional habitat management on working landscapes. Ty oversees the Foundation’s 7,800-acre refuge along with the buildings found around the property. In his free time, Ty enjoys fly fishing, leatherworking, cooking, and reading.
