Conservation Across Boundaries®
Conservation Across Boundaries® (CAB) is a grant supported, nationally recognized program that engages teachers in inquiry-based conservation education that focuses on the science behind the conservation and management of wildlife species within different ecosystems. Regional history, culture, and land-use practices are incorporated to demonstrate how these factors have shaped our landscapes and wildlife communities. These skills, when taken into the classroom, will help students to conceptualize wildlife, natural habitats, and conservation issues within a systems context. Our ultimate goal is to produce citizens who understand that solutions to issues regarding wildlife and natural resources can only be formulated following investigation and understanding of the causes and wide-scale implications underlying the problems. Between 2001 and 2012 over 200 teachers representing 21 U.S. states, Mexico, and South Africa completed CAB courses. The 2013 course descriptions are found below. You may learn more about the CAB program on the Boone & Crockett Club's website.
